Ignat spoke about the specifics of the Russian night attack: the enemy used missiles in various directions.

During a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of October 7, Russian occupiers used attack drones, ballistic missiles, and a large number of cruise missiles, launching them in various directions.

The head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, Yuriy Ignat, spoke about this during a telethon broadcast.

According to him, the enemy used a variety of weapons, each with its own flight parameters and direction of travel. Specifically, missiles traveling on a ballistic trajectory were recorded as impacts. Their exact type will be determined later, including from the debris.

Defense forces intercepted five ballistic missiles. Ignat noted that this indicated the presence of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

Russia also launched 48 cruise missiles of various types—sea-, land-, and air-based. According to the spokesman, strategic aviation used Tu-95 and Tu-160 missiles, while the Russians launched Kalibr missiles from the Caspian Sea. Iskander-K missiles were also used.

Of the 48 cruise missiles launched, Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 39, and the fate of six more is under investigation. Of the 130 drones launched, 117 were shot down, including a significant number of jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles.

Ignat noted that the current attack is generally similar to previous ones, but each strike has its own unique characteristics. Russia is varying its routes, taking into account the tactical situation, intelligence data, and weather conditions.

“The enemy is taking all of this into account, analyzing it, and studying where we have forces and resources that can intercept… This is also a question for our citizens who like to post various things on social media, so that they don’t do that,” the speaker emphasized.

As a reminder, Russian occupation forces launched a missile strike on Pryluky in the Chernihiv region on the morning of October 7.One of the missiles struck a five-story residential building, trapping people under the rubble . Preliminary reports indicate two people were killed and seven others were injured.
