In the near future, the International Monetary Fund will transfer $500 million in financing to Ukraine.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

These funds are provided under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), under which the IMF Executive Board has just completed the eighth review of Ukraine’s commitments.

The expected receipts will be the ninth tranche under this program. As the head of government noted, the financial support will be directed to priority budgetary needs – in particular, those related to social and defense spending.

Since the launch of the EFF, Ukraine has received over $10 billion in international assistance from the fund.

Recall that Ukraine previously reached an agreement with the International Monetary Fund on the eighth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), which paves the way for receiving the next tranche of about $500 million.

As reported, the IMF recommended that Ukraine increase taxes from 2026 to increase budget revenues .
