In 2025, Russia lost more soldiers than it mobilized into the army – Syrsky
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that in 2025, Russia’s losses exceeded mobilization rates for the first time. According to him, the Ukrainian military is disabling more than 1,000 Russian soldiers every day.
He said this in an interview with Le Monde .
Syrsky noted that 2025 was the first year of a full-scale war, when the negative dynamics for Russia became obvious.
“Despite the fact that in 2025 they managed to mobilize and call up 406 thousand people, their total losses in killed and wounded amounted to approximately 418 thousand fighters,” Syrsky said.
According to him, the Kremlin’s mobilization capabilities are not able to compensate for the scale of personnel losses.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also reported that the Russian offensive group has been increased to 713,000 troops, but it is experiencing significant depletion.
“Now the troops are incapacitating 1,000-1,100 Russian soldiers, killed and wounded, per day,” he added.
It was previously reported that the heavy losses of Russian military personnel on the battlefield are forcing the Kremlin to actively enlist the help of foreign mercenaries from a number of countries.
Recall that in January , Russian losses exceeded its replenishment by 9 thousand and amounted to almost 32 thousand people.
The day before, Syrsky reported that over the past 6 months, the number of Russian military personnel in Ukraine has remained almost unchanged and amounts to approximately 711-712 thousand people, including the operational reserve.
