In a hurry to get a manicure: a Ukrainian woman was fined in Poland for driving at a speed of 200 km/h

In Poland, a 23-year-old Ukrainian citizen was stopped by police for driving at almost 200 km/h on the highway between Lublin and Warsaw. The driver explained to law enforcement that she was in a hurry for a cosmetic procedure, as a result of which she received a fine and penalty points.

The incident occurred this week on a section of the expressway towards Warsaw. Traffic police officers noticed a Mercedes-Benz car that was driving significantly faster and aggressively overtaking other vehicles. The officers were in an unmarked service car equipped with a video recorder.
During the speed measurement, it was determined that the car was traveling at almost 200 km/h in a speed limit of 120 km/h. After that, the police stopped the vehicle in a safe place.
During the inspection, it was determined that the driver was a 23-year-old Ukrainian citizen living in Warsaw. She explained to law enforcement officers the reason for the violation.
“I was in a big hurry because I had an appointment at the beauty salon,” the driver said.
For significantly exceeding the speed limit, the police imposed a maximum fine of PLN 2,500 on the woman, as well as 15 penalty points. The police noted that in the event of a repeated similar violation within 2 years, she could face a fine of PLN 5,000.
Police also stressed that speeding remains one of the main causes of serious road accidents, especially on expressways, and urged drivers to adhere to posted speed limits.
