In August 2025, Russian troops captured 464 km of Ukrainian territory, which is 18% less than the month before.
This was reported by analysts from the DeepState project.
According to their data, the overall level of occupation has reached 19% of the territory of Ukraine – the same as on October 3, 2022, before the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Dudchany.
“The growth of occupied territories for almost three years is practically zero. But it should be understood that in the east we have lost as much as we have fired on the right bank of the Kherson region,” the analysts explained.
Correlation between assault actions and lost territories:
-
Novopavlovsk direction – 38% of all losses (16% of assault actions);
-
Limansky – 27% (17%);
-
Pokrovsky – 19% (33%);
-
Toretsky – 9% (6%);
-
Seversky – 3% (4%);
-
Kramatorsk – 3% (3%);
-
Zaporizhzhya – 1% (1%);
-
Sumy – 0% (7%).
Analysts noted that the most effective for the enemy in terms of the ratio of attacks and results are the Pokrovskoe and Sumy directions .
At the same time , the most problematic area remains the Novopavlovsky front , where the Russians are achieving tangible results with fewer losses. The threatening situation in the Liman direction is also separately noted – the occupiers have advanced deep into the Serebryansky forest.
