In Belgorod, Russia, large-scale problems with energy infrastructure have led to the organization of evacuations of children to other regions. Hundreds of residential buildings and social institutions have been left without heat.

This is reported by Russian media.

Belgorod Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that the most pressing problem remains the lack of heating in a significant number of facilities. Because of this, the region has begun technical measures to prevent damage to infrastructure.

“Due to the critical situation, water from the heating systems has begun to be drained in 455 apartment buildings, as well as in 25 kindergartens, 17 schools, 9 polyclinics, and 4 universities to avoid bursting pipes,” the governor said.

According to him, restoration work is ongoing. The heating systems are planned to be filled only after the thermal power plant is ready to supply heat, as otherwise the consequences could be significant for residents.

In addition, heating stations were switched to 24-hour operation. Local authorities suggested that parents leave their children in the city’s care or send their students to other regions.

“Dear friends, if you are ready to leave your children with us, then we take responsibility for finding them – you need to call the Belgorod city administration or the head of the kindergarten you go to, leave your contacts, and we will start doing this work from today. If you have school-age children: you leave, as in 2024-2025, your applications with the Belgorod city administration, and we send the children to other regions – to places that are already familiar, such as the Republic of Crimea, and to the nearest regions – we are talking to the governors now,” said Gladkov.

At the same time, the governor noted that gas supply has been restored in some settlements, but problems with connecting electricity to approximately 500 homes remain.

By the way, since the evening of Wednesday, February 4, powerful explosions have been heard in several cities of the Russian Federation . Belgorod and Rostov-on-Don were under attack by drones and missiles.
