In Cherkasy region, a man raped an 85-year-old woman: he was detained

A 25-year-old man was detained in the Cherkasy region, suspected of raping and beating an 85-year-old woman.

This was reported by the press service of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, on the night of March 28, the suspect, while intoxicated, entered the home of an 85-year-old woman. Using physical force, he committed violent sexual acts against the victim.

As a result of the attack, the woman suffered serious injuries, including a fractured femoral neck.

The suspect has now been detained.

At the prosecutor’s request, the court chose a preventive measure for him – detention.

If found guilty, the suspect faces a prison sentence of three to five years.

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Monastyryshchensky Department of the Uman District Prosecutor’s Office, a 25-year-old resident of the Uman district was reported suspected of illegal entry into a home, rape, and negligent infliction of grievous bodily harm (Part 1 of Article 162, Part 1 of Article 152, Article 128 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As a reminder, prosecutors have submitted to the court an indictment against a 56-year-old former physical education teacher from Kharkiv, who is accused of raping and corrupting schoolchildren.
