In Dnipro, a man attacked a serviceman of the Central Military District with a knife: all the details of the incident

In Dnipro, during a check of military registration documents, a local resident attacked a serviceman of the territorial recruitment and social support center with a knife. The injured serviceman was hospitalized for medical care.

This is reported by the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The incident occurred on March 6 at around 4:50 p.m. on Yakhnenkovska Street. While performing their duties, representatives of the territorial recruitment and social support center stopped two men to check their military registration documents.

During the conversation, a 58-year-old local resident pulled out a knife and stabbed a 24-year-old serviceman in the thigh. After the attack, the wounded serviceman was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Law enforcement officers detained the attacker at the scene in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the search of the area, police officers seized an object that was allegedly used as a weapon of attack.

“During the inspection of the area, police seized an object likely used as a weapon of the crime — a knife,” the police said.

Investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This concerns threats or violence against an official or citizen performing a public duty. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway.
