In the Dnipropetrovsk region, unknown individuals attacked servicemen of the 24th separate assault regiment “Aidar”.

The unit itself reported this.

The incident occurred on February 21 in a city in the region. According to the military, a group of six people attacked the soldiers, who were off-duty and attending to personal matters.

The regiment claims that during the attack, one of the assailants used a firearm.

The soldiers, they said, deliberately chose not to use their own weapons, even though the law permits their use to repel an attack. They explained this by not wanting to endanger civilians.

The unit stated that it will henceforth act in accordance with current Ukrainian legislation and will defend itself in the event of threats. It also warned that any attempts at aggression against the military could have serious consequences.

The 24th Separate Assault Regiment “Aidar” emphasized that Ukrainian military personnel have the legal right to self-defense.
