In Kharkiv region, a minor gave birth to a child by her own father

In the Kharkiv region, law enforcement officers reported a man suspected of raping his 16-year-old daughter, who has mental retardation.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, in March of this year, a girl gave birth to a premature baby in a village in the Lozovsky district. The results of a DNA examination established that the father of the newborn is her biological father.

The investigation believes that the man knew about his daughter’s health condition and took advantage of her helplessness. According to the prosecutor’s office, he, while intoxicated, raped the girl when his wife and four other minor children were not at home.

The head of the Lozov District Prosecutor’s Office of the Kharkiv region approved the report of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – rape of a minor with whom the suspect is in a family relationship.

At the prosecutor’s request, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention.

Prosecutors, together with police investigators, are also collecting evidence that may confirm the systematic nature of the violence against the victim. The investigation is ongoing.

It was previously reported that a 25-year-old man was detained in the Cherkasy region, suspected of raping and beating an 85-year-old woman.

As a reminder, prosecutors have submitted to the court an indictment against a 56-year-old former physical education teacher from Kharkiv, who is accused of raping and corrupting schoolchildren.
