In Kherson, a man with a knife attacked a group of teenagers: details of the incident

The day before, on August 22, in the center of Kherson, a man intoxicated with alcohol attacked passersby with a knife.

This was reported by the Main Police Department in the Kherson region.

As it turned out, a 51-year-old man, who had previously been held criminally liable, had a conflict with a group of teenagers, during which the defendant began threatening a 15-year-old boy with a knife and tried to inflict bodily harm.

“A caring Kherson resident who was nearby saw this. He neutralized the aggressive man before the police arrived. Thus, we managed to prevent a tragedy and injury to the children,” the law enforcement officers explained.

According to the deputy head of the district police department, Alena Kmet, the suspect was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the knife was seized.

The detainee is currently in custody. Investigators have opened criminal proceedings into his actions.
