In Kyiv, a 19-year-old driver shot a man after an argument over parking

In the Troyeshchyna district of Kyiv, a 19-year-old man opened fire near a supermarket after a conflict with another man over a parking violation. The victim is in hospital, and the attacker has been detained.

This is reported by the Kyiv police.

The incident occurred at around 11:00 p.m. on Kashtanova Street in the Desnyanskyi district of the capital. Passersby heard shots near one of the supermarkets and called the police.

According to preliminary information, a 46-year-old man made a remark to the driver of an Audi who violated parking rules. The argument escalated into aggression – the young driver pulled out a gun and fired several shots at his opponent. One of the shots hit the victim in the face.

After the shooting, the attacker got into a car and fled the scene.

The fugitive was promptly identified by patrol officers. In a short time, the police identified the attacker as a 19-year-old resident of Kyiv. During his detention, a pistol was seized from him, from which the shots were probably fired.

The boy was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – hooliganism with the use of firearms. The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.
