In Kyiv, a man with a gun opened fire in a store: he was detained
In Kyiv, police officers detained a man who opened fire in a supermarket in the Obolonskyi district. According to law enforcement, he was intoxicated, provoked a conflict with store employees, and then fired a pneumatic gun at a security guard. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

According to law enforcement, the incident occurred in a supermarket on Pivnichna Street. After receiving a report of a shooting, police officers arrived at the scene, quickly established the circumstances of the incident, and detained a 35-year-old Kyiv resident.
“Law enforcement officers established that a 35-year-old Kyiv resident, while intoxicated, entered the store and began provoking a conflict with the staff. Later, he took out an air pistol and fired a shot at the security guard,” the police reported.
The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the detention, law enforcement officers seized the air pistol from which the shot was fired.
Investigators have already informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism with the use of weapons). If his guilt is proven in court, the man faces up to seven years in prison.
As a reminder, in Kyiv, police reported suspicions to a man who, while intoxicated, was shooting a gun in the courtyard of a residential building and scaring residents of high-rise buildings.
