In Kyiv, people came out to defend the Teremki park due to the cutting down of trees
In Kyiv, residents have taken to the streets to protest the felling of trees in the Teremki Park. People are hugging trees and trying to stop the work, which, according to the official version, is being carried out for the construction of a new heating network.
This is reported on social media.
According to available information, the project initially envisaged laying a heating main along Teremkivska Street. However, the developer chose a different route, which passes through a green zone. Activists claim that this option turned out to be cheaper.
The project involves the construction of a partition between the Teremky district boiler house and heat main No. 4 of CHP-5.
At the same time, the protest participants suggest that the felling of over 600 trees may be related not only to the laying of the heating network. In their opinion, the liberated territory can be used for the construction of a parking lot for the Senate residential complex.
As a reminder, the construction of a new backup heating main has started in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital , which will ensure uninterrupted heat supply to the Teremka-1 and Teremka-2 residential areas in the event of an emergency or critical shutdown of CHP-5.
