In Kyiv, the head of the police department disappeared with the seized money: they are looking for him

The Metropolitan Police are searching for Yuriy Rybyansky, the head of the Darnytsia Police Department, who did not report to duty and is currently unavailable. During an inspection by the Department of Internal Security (DVB), it was discovered that funds that were under arrest and to which he had access had disappeared.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police.

The police press service reported that a pre-trial investigation has been launched. According to law enforcement officials, the search for Rybiansky is currently ongoing, and criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “intentional murder with the mark “missing person”.”

In addition, the investigation is investigating possible abuse of official authority by a law enforcement officer (Part 3, Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). As reported by the State Bureau of Investigation, the sanction of the article provides for seven to ten years of imprisonment and a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for a period of up to three years.

Law enforcement officers are urging anyone with any information about Rybiansky’s whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the funds to immediately contact the police.
