In Lviv, a man stabbed a military CCC officer to death during a document check: the attacker was detained

In Lviv on August 21, a 25-year-old man fatally stabbed a 55-year-old serviceman of the CCC and SP with a knife while checking military registration documents. A police officer who was part of the alert group used his service weapon and detained the attacker.

This was reported by the National Police and the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office .

The incident occurred at night on Stepana Bandera Street during activities to notify the population about mobilization and verification of military registration documents.

According to preliminary data from law enforcement officers, a 25-year-old Lviv man attacked a serviceman of the Lychakiv-Zaliznychny District CCC and SP. Running into the school grounds, he took out a knife and aimed three blows at the 55-year-old junior sergeant: two in the neck and one in the forearm.

After that, the attacker began to threaten the police officer with a knife. Responding to a real threat, the law enforcement officer used a service firearm. The attacker was hospitalized with leg and stomach injuries. He is currently in the hospital.

The 55-year-old serviceman, despite resuscitation measures performed by doctors, died in the ambulance.

The deceased was mobilized at the end of June of this year and was deemed fit for service in support units due to his health, and was therefore assigned to the RTCC and SP alert group.

Under the procedural guidance of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, the attacker was notified of suspicion of murdering a person in connection with the performance of his official duties and threatening to kill a law enforcement officer in connection with the performance of his official duties (clause 8, part 2, article 115, part 1, article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Investigative actions are ongoing, all circumstances of the incident are being established.

By the way, in Lutsk on the evening of August 20, a conflict occurred between civilians, police officers, and military personnel of the CCC. After an attempt to check his documents, the man began to flee, and later about 30 people approached the scene. According to the CCC, they attacked two military personnel and damaged a service vehicle .
