In Lviv, a 40-year-old local resident was sentenced to 4 years in prison for a robbery at a liquor store. The man threatened the saleswoman with a toy gun that looked like a real gun and took money from the cash register.

This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

At the end of October last year, a man wearing a medical mask entered a store on Medova Pechera Street in Lviv. He grabbed the saleswoman by the arm and, threatening her with a toy gun, began demanding money from the cash register.

The saleswoman believed the attacker was armed and, fearing for her life, did not resist. She gave the man all the money from the cash register, after which he fled.

After the attack, the woman reported the incident to the police and described the attacker and the circumstances of the crime. Law enforcement officers located him and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The man was charged with robbery with the aim of taking someone else’s property, combined with a threat of violence dangerous to the life or health of the victim, committed under martial law under Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 4 years in prison. He will remain in custody until the verdict becomes final.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main State Emergency Service in the Lviv region. The court verdict becomes legally binding after the expiration of the appeal period.

Recall that in the Svyatoshynskyi district of Kyiv, a 26-year-old man climbed into a barrel of tar to rob a grocery store unnoticed . Police detained him with a bag of stolen goods, and spent more than 5 hours cleaning it from the tar.
