In Novovolynsk, a man with a knife attacked two TCC soldiers: one is in serious condition.
In Novovolynsk, Volyn Oblast, during a public awareness exercise, a man with a knife attacked two service members of the territorial recruitment and social support center.
This was reported by the Operational Command “West”.
The incident occurred on August 12. One of the soldiers sustained a stab wound to the abdomen. He was hospitalized, and his condition is currently considered serious.
The second soldier sustained a hand injury. After receiving medical attention, his condition is assessed as satisfactory.
The Zapad military base noted that both servicemen are veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war and have combat experience. They were transferred to work at the TCC and SP for health reasons.
The command condemned the attack and called for the strictest punishment for the perpetrator.
“We strongly condemn any violence against veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, who, despite everything, continue to fulfill their duty to the Ukrainian people,” the Zapad OK stated.
Volyn Oblast police reported the arrest of the attacker, a man born in 1978.
Following the attack, law enforcement officials plan to charge him under Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “Threat or violence against an official or citizen performing a public duty.”
Depending on the classification and circumstances of the crime, the sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to 12 years of imprisonment.
Incidentally, in Vinnytsia, a man wanted for violating military registration regulations attacked a serviceman at the territorial recruitment and social support center with a knife . The victim received medical assistance, and the attacker was detained, and criminal proceedings have been opened.
As a reminder, law enforcement officers in Kharkiv detained a man who, during his arrest , stabbed a service member at a territorial recruitment center and attempted to attack a police officer. To stop the attacker, the officer used his service weapon.
