In Odessa, a man shot and killed patrol officers: he was eliminated during detention

In Odessa, a man opened fire on police officers during a document check. Two law enforcement officers were injured in the shooting.

According to police, the incident occurred when patrol officers stopped the driver. He suddenly pulled out a machine gun and started shooting.

After that, a special operation was announced in the region to detain the attacker. Law enforcement officers found out that the 45-year-old man was wanted for violating military registration rules.

He was later found in an unfinished building. During the negotiations, he failed to make contact and opened fire again, this time on the special forces soldiers.

“During the negotiations, a man from the third floor began shooting at the police officers, and in response, KORD fighters also opened fire. The suspect was killed,” the police reported.

They added that the forcible detention was necessary to eliminate the threat to the lives of law enforcement officers.

Investigators are currently working at the scene, and the State Bureau of Investigation and the prosecutor’s office have also been notified of the incident.
