In Odessa, a man took two people hostage in a hair salon: what is known

In Odessa, a man locked himself in a barbershop and took two people hostage. Police and medics were on the scene, and law enforcement officers were preparing a special operation to free the people.

The incident was reported by local Telegram channels and media outlets, citing Odessa Oblast Police Spokesperson Lyubov Gordiyevska.

According to preliminary information, the man entered a beauty salon on Akademika Filatova Street, where an employee and a visitor were. After that, he locked himself inside with them.

According to a police spokeswoman, the man did not make any demands. Several police crews and an emergency medical team arrived at the scene.

Local media reported that law enforcement officers were preparing to storm the premises. Later, it became known that the police opened the doors of the barbershop and detained the man.

The National Police reported that during the incident, the man did not harm anyone inside the building. Law enforcement officers are currently speaking with the hostages, and additional medical assistance was called for the detainee.
