In Poltava, a woman hired a “hitman” for her neighbor because of a conflict: what was the court’s verdict?

The Kyiv District Court of the city of Poltava found guilty a woman who, amid a conflict with her neighbor, wanted to harm him and hired a “hitman.”

This is stated in the court verdict.

In particular, the conflict arose because of the accused’s son’s love for pigeons, which he fed in the yard. In return, the neighbor parked his car near the drinking fountains, interfered with the care of the birds, and when he walked the dog, kicked the drinking fountain.

Quarrels often broke out between the neighbors. The woman’s son slashed the tires of the victim’s car, for which he received a fine.

Ultimately, in 2024, the pensioner decided to organize and order another person to commit grievous bodily harm.

As planned, the hired person was supposed to gouge out the man’s eyes for a monetary reward.

According to the prepared plan, the “killer” was to use a pistol to shoot the victim in the eyes, causing loss of vision or their functions. It is noted that the crime was planned to be committed in a deserted place – where the victim was walking his dog.

For this, the pensioner promised a reward of $500, emphasizing that she would return the funds after confirmation of the fulfillment of her order.

The court found the woman guilty of committing the crime and sentenced her to 6 years and 8 months in prison.
