In Poltava region, a drunk police officer hit two underage sisters: details of the fatal accident

On the evening of November 30, a traffic accident involving a law enforcement officer occurred in the city of Karlivka, Poltava region. Two 17-year-old sisters died as a result of being hit by a car.

This was reported by the Poltava Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

It is noted that a police officer, while driving his own Hyundai Tucson, hit two 17-year-old sisters who were walking on the side of the road. Both victims died at the scene from their injuries.

After the traffic accident, the police officer left the scene, but later returned.

According to preliminary data, the man shows signs of alcohol intoxication. He was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into this fact under Part 4 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road safety rules by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, which caused the death of several people.

It is reported that procedural management in criminal proceedings is carried out by prosecutors of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The group of prosecutors is headed by the head of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Yevhen Gladiy.

By the way, in Cherkasy, a woman driving under the influence of alcohol during the day hit three pedestrians , crashed into a parked car and ended up in a store. The police opened an investigation, the victims received medical assistance, and the driver was detained to clarify the circumstances.

Let us remind you that on November 9, a fatal road accident occurred in the village of Fedorivka, Rivne district . A retired couple died as a result of a collision between a car and an SUV.
