In Pyatikhatki, a man stabbed the mayor and fled: he is wanted

In the city of Pyatikhatky, an unknown person attacked the mayor with a knife. The official was hospitalized, and the police opened a criminal case under the article of attempted murder.

This was reported by the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to preliminary data, the attack occurred on May 26 at around 10:40 a.m. Law enforcement officials say the attacker attacked the mayor and stabbed him.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the mayor was stabbed by a local farmer.

“As a result of the attack, the mayor received a knife wound to the chest and was hospitalized in serious condition,” the prosecutor’s office reported.

The man fled the scene after the attack. Law enforcement is currently conducting search operations and trying to establish his whereabouts.

“Investigations are currently underway, and measures are being taken to detain the person involved,” law enforcement officials noted.

The investigative and operational group, criminal investigation department and other police services are working at the scene. Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the attack.
