The State Duma of the Russian Federation passed a bill in the first reading on conscription of citizens for military service throughout the year.

This was reported by Russian media.

Thus, from January 1 to December 31, military enlistment offices will be able to organize medical examinations, arrange psychological selection, and hold draft board meetings.

At the same time, they will be sent to their places of duty as before in two stages – from April 1 to July 15 and from October 1 to December 31.

And summonses to conscripts will be sent throughout the calendar year, without being tied to a specific location.

According to the author of the bill, Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Andriy Kartapolov, the changes are designed to “unburden the military commissariats,” which will perform their work not for three months, but for a year.

In addition, it is assumed that conscripts who have not received a summons must come to the military registration and enlistment office and verify their data within two weeks of the start of the next period of service.

It was previously reported that cadets from the Military Institute of Communications from St. Petersburg are undergoing “practice” at the front , while the main building of the educational institution remains empty.
