The fuel crisis in Russia continues to gain momentum. In the Irkutsk region, river transportation is being reduced due to fuel shortages, and in Transbaikalia, gasoline is already being sold with coupons and fuel cards.
This is reported by Radio Liberty.
Due to fuel shortages and rising fuel prices, the East Siberian River Shipping Company is reducing regular and excursion flights. The company plans to focus on subsidized transportation and ensuring the operation of ferry crossings.
The restrictions apply to routes to Olkhon Island, to the port of Baikal, as well as to Velikiy Koty, Listvyanka and Baikal Dunes.
Meanwhile, the situation with fuel sales in Transbaikalia has worsened. At the Neftemarket gas station in Chita, AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline are sold only with coupons.
In addition, the DBK network has stopped selling AI-100 and AI-92 gasoline to individuals, and plans to stop selling AI-95 from July 1. The company explained this by the failure of suppliers to fulfill their obligations.
Amid the fuel crisis in Russia, prices for fuel storage canisters have also risen sharply. According to the Telegram channel “We Can Explain”, some models of plastic and metal canisters have risen in price by 60%, and some by several times. In particular, the 3ton canister has risen in price from 1,600 rubles in April to 16,000 rubles at the end of June.
As the publication notes, the fuel crisis in Russia began to worsen after Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries. Currently, many regions of the country are either experiencing fuel shortages or restrictions on its sale are in place.
By the way, Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries are increasingly hitting the Russian fuel industry . Gasoline production has noticeably decreased, and fuel problems are already affecting regions located thousands of kilometers from Ukraine.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the results of strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on military facilities of the Russian aggressor on June 18 and on the night of June 19, 2026. Among the targets hit were railway bridges in the temporarily occupied Crimea, military infrastructure, and the Moscow Oil Refinery.
As reported, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck two fuel facilities in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation on the night of June 18. After the attack, fires broke out at the oil depot and the fuel and lubricants depot.
