In September, Polish border guards recorded a sharp increase in the number of Ukrainian citizens aged 18–22 crossing the border into Poland. The figure increased more than tenfold compared to August.
The Polish Border Service reported this in response to a request from ZAXID.NET.
From August 28 to September 28, 2025, more than 56,000 young Ukrainians in this age group entered Poland from Ukraine. Meanwhile, more than 19,200 citizens departed in the opposite direction – from Poland to Ukraine.
Overall, border guards have also noted an increase in the number of Ukrainians leaving Poland – 3.5 times compared to the previous month.
As a reminder, since the Ukrainian government permitted men aged 18–22 to travel abroad on August 28, a significant increase in the flow of young citizens to European countries has been recorded. This is particularly evident in Poland, where the number of outbound trips increased more than tenfold in the first week after the changes came into effect.
As reported, after the government allowed men aged 18 to 22 to temporarily cross the state border in late August, Ukraine has seen a surge in youth migration from several regions . This trend is particularly noticeable in the western part of the country.
