A man with a sword attacked people at a high school in the Swedish city of Fagersta. Several people were injured and the attacker was detained by police.

Police were called to the school at around 2:00 p.m. local time on August 21. Officers said they detained one person upon arrival. Police are not yet confirming the exact number of injuries.
“Police continue to work at the scene, using various resources. The public is urged to respect checkpoints and follow police instructions,” the law enforcement statement said.
There are ambulances and police cars near the school, as well as a police helicopter.
Fagersta is located about 170 km northwest of Stockholm. The town has a population of about 12,000 people.
