In the center of Paris, a man attacked police officers with a knife: details of the bloody incident

In Paris, at Montparnasse train station, police wounded a 34-year-old man who threatened them with a knife. After being shot, he shot himself in the throat and is in critical condition.

French police were waiting for a man as part of a domestic violence investigation in a southern suburb of Paris when he appeared at a train station and brandished a knife at officers, causing one of the officers to open fire, hitting him in the leg.

After the shooting, the man stabbed himself in the throat. He was quickly taken to the hospital, but according to law enforcement, he remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

One of the shots wounded a passerby, who was hit in the foot. Witnesses said the incident caused panic among passengers and visitors to the station, especially given that it occurred the day after the anniversary of the 2015 Paris attacks.

One witness, Elvir Weiss, said: “The memory of the attacks of November 13th is still vivid. I thought: ‘This is starting again.’ Suddenly I felt a lot of stress.”
