In the Kyiv region, the former head of the RTCK was charged with illegally confiscating eight vehicles from entrepreneurs. Three of the vehicles have already been donated to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The State Bureau of Investigation’s press service reported this on Monday, February 2.
The investigation established that the official illegally seized eight vehicles from two freight transport companies. He took the vehicles without the required documents, citing the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Subsequently, on his instructions, acceptance certificates were drawn up retroactively, ostensibly for the transfer of the vehicles to military units. In fact, these vehicles never arrived.
It was noted that enterprises suffered damages amounting to more than 4 million hryvnias.
Currently, three vehicles have been transferred to meet the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
At the same time, the former official’s actions were classified as abuse of power under Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty under this article is imprisonment for up to 12 years.
Previously, the SBU, together with the National Police, dismantled three more schemes for illegal evasion of conscription and detained four organizers of the deals in various regions of the country.
As a reminder, in December, the SBU and the National Police exposed eight more organizers of draft evasion schemes in various regions of Ukraine. In exchange for large bribes, the scammers obtained fake medical certificates or smuggled men abroad.
