An emergency occurred in the Fastiv district of the Kyiv region, as a result of which the railway infrastructure was damaged. As a result, some suburban and regional trains were cancelled.
This was reported by the head of the Kiev OVA, Nikolai Kalashnik.
“Due to an emergency, damage to the railway infrastructure occurred in the Fastiv district of the Kyiv region. Together with the Ukrzaliznytsia team and the relevant services, we are working to eliminate the consequences,” the statement says.
Kalashnik added that a transfer of passengers of train No. 73 Kharkov-Przemysl to Kyiv has been organized: some by bus, the rest will eventually be by train, which will continue on along the changed route.
Three women were treated for acute stress reactions. An emergency medical team accompanies passengers on a train to the capital.
“During the restoration work, long-distance trains will run around the damaged section via Mironovka or Korosten. This means a deviation from the schedule, however, the railway workers are speeding up the trains and working on all the necessary connections manually,” he added.
At 9 a.m., Ukrzaliznytsia reported that the State Emergency Service, railway workers and other services are doing everything possible to eliminate the consequences of the emergency in the Kyiv region as quickly as possible and return regular routes to passenger trains.
However, during the day, individual trains may be delayed for up to 2-3 hours while they follow alternate routes. The list of changed routes can be found at the link .
