In the Odessa region, a drunk soldier struck and killed a pensioner.

In the city of Belyaevka in the Odessa region, a 44-year-old colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a 67-year-old woman at a pedestrian crossing, who died instantly from her injuries.

This was reported by the publication “Dumskaya” with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to information, the Skoda Octavia was driven by a senior officer of the Odessa operational-tactical group, Colonel Dmitry Ishchenko.
At around 9:30 a.m., he was driving along Ataman Golovatogo Street when he lost control and hit a woman crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.

The victim’s leg was severed and she died at the scene before the ambulance arrived.

According to police, the driver was heavily intoxicated – preliminarily 3.3 ppm.

The colonel has been detained, and information is being prepared to be entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violation of traffic rules while intoxicated, resulting in death.
