In the Podilskyi district of the Odessa region, during a document check, a man pulled out a grenade and detonated it. The explosion injured two police officers and the offender himself.

The incident occurred on July 5 in the Podilskyi district. According to preliminary data, the crew of the patrol police response group stopped the moped driver for violating traffic rules.
During a document check, law enforcement officers determined that the 52-year-old man was a convicted felon. After that, he took out a grenade and began threatening to use it.
A moment later, an explosion occurred. Two police officers and the man himself were injured in the incident.
An investigative and operational group of the territorial police unit is currently working at the scene. After establishing all the circumstances of the incident, it will be given the appropriate legal qualification.
