Odessa regional authorities declared October 2 a day of mourning following the deaths of nine people during severe weather.

The head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, reported this.

According to him, on this day, state flags will be lowered on government buildings, businesses, and institutions, and entertainment events will be limited.

“This is an inexpressible pain for the entire Odessa region and our shared loss. I express my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims,” Kiper said.

As a reminder, nine people died in Odessa due to heavy rains and widespread flooding, including an 8-year-old girl.
