In the Pokrovsky direction, the Defense Forces have regained control over tens of square kilometers.

In August, Ukrainian defenders lost about 5 km in the Pokrovsk direction, but were able to regain control of 26 km of territory. Similar dynamics in favor of Ukraine are also observed in the Dobropillya direction.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky.

According to him, the Pokrovsk direction remains one of the most difficult sections of the front. In the last week alone, Ukrainian units repelled approximately 350 enemy attacks.

“It is here that the Russians have concentrated their main forces and created the most offensive group, which is trying to break through our defense. But the Ukrainian soldiers are steadily holding their positions, destroying the enemy’s manpower and equipment, and at the same time carrying out effective assault operations,” Syrsky emphasized.

Earlier, the Russian command identified a new operational target in the Donetsk region : during the autumn, the occupation forces will try to capture Pokrovsk, Mirnograd and Dobropolye.

Let us recall that the Russian occupation forces have begun a large-scale regrouping of forces at the front, evidenced by the redeployment of marines and paratroopers towards Donbass . Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) predict that in the fall of 2025, the Russian command will try to seize the remnants of the Donetsk region.
