In the Rivne region, a man opened fire on a military alert group and a police officer. Two people were injured as a result of the shooting.
This is reported by the Rivne region police.
The incident occurred on April 29 at around 5:00 p.m. in the village of Verba, Dubno District. The servicemen, together with a community police officer, approached a man riding a bicycle to check his documents.
In response, he took out a machine gun and started shooting at them, after which he fled the scene.
Police have already identified the attacker and are searching for him. A special police operation has been launched in the region.
A criminal case has been opened under the article of attempted murder.
According to police, the suspect is approximately 48 years old, of slim build, about 170 cm tall, has short gray hair. He was wearing camouflage clothing.
As a reminder, in Bukovina, law enforcement officers detained a man suspected of attempting to murder servicemen of the CCK.
