In Transcarpathia, a student carried out a shooting at a school

On Thursday, April 16, a shooting incident occurred at a school in Transcarpathia. A 9th grade student pulled out a gun during class and fired, wounding his classmate. After that, the minor fled, but was later detained by law enforcement officers.

This is reported by the National Police.

“Today at 09:30, the hotline 102 received a report that a 9th grade student was threatening participants in the educational process. The minor suddenly took out a gun during a lesson and fired two shots – one of which wounded his classmate. After that, the boy fled in an unknown direction,” the message says.

The police say they quickly launched a search operation and detained the teenager. Investigators and juvenile police officers are working at the scene.

Doctors examined the victim – his life and health are not in danger.

“The police seized a gun — preliminary, traumatic,” law enforcement officials reported.

All the circumstances of the incident are currently being established, including how the weapon ended up in the hands of a minor. The issue of the legal qualification of the event is being resolved.

As reported, on March 8 , a shooting occurred in Lviv during a conflict between two men . The victim was hospitalized, and law enforcement is currently searching for the shooter.
