In Ukraine, 74 prosecutors who illegally obtained fake disability certificates were fired.

Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported this.

According to him, the topic of prosecutors with fake disabilities “was taboo for years,” because “some people didn’t want to notice the problem,” while others “considered it insignificant.” After Kravchenko took over the Prosecutor General’s Office, all employees with disabilities were sent for a comprehensive review by the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors.

Following the investigation, 74 prosecutors were dismissed from their agencies, and another 66 were dismissed from administrative positions. Additionally, 290 disciplinary proceedings were opened and are currently pending. Several cases against employees who were illegally granted disability status have already been referred to court.

“Regarding fake disabilities: I’m convinced that dismissals alone won’t solve the problem. There was a crime, and there will be a conviction,” Kravchenko emphasized.

Earlier, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Mykhailo Podolyak stated that corruption is an integral part of the modern economy, regardless of the country’s political system. He also reported that the Ukrainian authorities responded promptly to the corruption scandal in the energy sector.
