In Ukraine, the one-time payment for the birth of a child was increased to 50 thousand hryvnias: details

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law on family assistance before and after the birth of a child.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

“The law provides for an increase in a one-time payment to women after the birth of a child from UAH 10,300 to UAH 50,000,” the Prime Minister said.

The bill proposes to significantly increase payments to women who have given birth to a child but do not have professional experience. Currently, such payments amount to less than 1,000 hryvnias. After the law is adopted, it will amount to 7,000 hryvnias per month.

The draft law also provides for:

• 50,000 UAH one-time – to each woman after the birth of a child;
• 7,000 UAH per month – for pregnant women (especially uninsured);
• 7,000 UAH per month – for one of the parents or relatives who cares for the child;
• Additional monthly allowance if parents go to work after the child is 1 year old;
• There is also a “baby package” – a one-time natural birth aid.

Assistance to women in recovery after childbirth will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers after the adoption of the draft act.

The Prime Minister also announced the new “e-Nursery” program. According to it, after the child turns one year old, parents will have a choice: return to work or raise the child until the age of three.

“If they choose the first option, the state will pay 8 thousand UAH monthly. If they choose the second option, the mother or father will continue to pay a single social contribution until the baby is three years old,” he said.

As a reminder, on July 7, at the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Government will decide to launch the “Student Package” — a new cash payment.

It was previously reported that Ukraine is preparing a large-scale pension reform that will allow citizens to significantly increase their future payments . According to the new model, pensions can be doubled or even tripled.
