In Ukraine, they want to tighten penalties for traffic violations and regulate the movement of electric scooters

Ukraine is preparing a package of solutions to improve road safety. In particular, the government plans to increase responsibility for systematic violations of traffic rules and speeding.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko.

According to her, she discussed the relevant issues with the Minister of Internal Affairs.

Among the proposed changes are tougher sanctions for drivers who regularly violate speed limits, as well as improvements to automatic and manual violation recording systems.

Separately, the government plans to regulate the use of light personal electric vehicles, in particular electric scooters.

Svyridenko noted that when making final decisions, suggestions from the public will be taken into account.

“I sympathize with everyone who has lost their relatives and friends on the roads. We must do everything to ensure that such tragedies cannot happen again,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
