In Uzhhorod, a man opened fire, after which a fire broke out in the forest: details of the incident

Uzhhorod law enforcement officers have completed a special operation to detain an armed man who was wanted after reports of shooting in the Shakhty Forest. A combat pistol was seized from the detainee, and according to preliminary data, no one was injured.

This is reported by the Police of the Transcarpathian region.

According to law enforcement, at around 6:30 p.m., several children approached the police on Oleh Kutsyn Street. They reported that they heard gunshots from the Shakhty Forest and saw a suspicious man.

Police officers quickly arrived at the scene and, while inspecting the area, heard shots again. According to preliminary information, one of the bullets may have hit an abandoned building, causing a fire that spread to the forest.

A special police operation was launched to search for and detain the armed man. Additional police forces, including members of the KORD special unit, were involved. Law enforcement officers also urged citizens to stay away from the area where the special operation was being conducted and to report any information regarding the possible whereabouts of the shooter to the 102 hotline.

Later, the Transcarpathian regional police announced the completion of the special operation. The armed man was detained and his combat pistol was seized.

According to police, no one was injured in the incident. Investigations are currently underway at the scene, and law enforcement officials have promised to provide more details later.
