In the city of Volodymyr in Volyn, the implementation of the decision of the Commercial Court to vacate the building of the Assumption Cathedral, which was in the use of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, has begun.

This was reported by the press service of the Volyn region police.

It is noted that on the morning of October 10, the procedure for implementing the court decision began in Volodymyr, according to which the Holy Assumption Cathedral should be returned to the ownership of the Volyn Regional Military Administration. According to the resolution, the premises should be vacated and transferred under an act of acceptance and transfer.

Law enforcement officers are ensuring order and public safety at the scene. According to the police, about 80 parishioners have gathered near the church to watch the proceedings. Law enforcement officials are communicating with them to avoid possible conflicts.

As of the morning of October 10, no public order violations had been recorded. The police assured that they continue to monitor the situation and are ready to respond promptly to any provocations.

We would like to remind you that this is not the first case of the transfer of religious buildings that were previously used by the UOC-MP to the ownership of the state or communities. Previously, similar processes took place in various regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Ternopil, and Rivne regions.

It is worth adding that in the center of Chernivtsi, on the territory of the Holy Spirit Cathedral, on June 17 , a mass clash took place between believers of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and representatives of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate .

By the way, the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) officially filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Administrative Court to terminate the activities of the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate .

Recall that on August 27, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) officially recognized the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church , whose activities are prohibited in Ukraine. This decision was the result of a long-term investigation that revealed signs of the UOC’s subordination to a foreign religious organization.
