In Volyn, a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter jet accidentally dropped ammunition on a house: a case has been opened

In Volyn, a Ukrainian fighter jet dropped a munition on a private house during a flight. The explosion completely destroyed the house. Fortunately, no one was injured.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation on September 12.

According to preliminary data, the incident occurred on September 11 near the village of Kopyllya. The fighter jet was flying during which an unauthorized ammunition failure occurred. The shell hit a private residential building. Due to a powerful explosion, not only the house itself was destroyed, but also outbuildings.

The owner of the destroyed farm, Volodymyr Shramko, said that as a result of the explosion, he lost everything: his house, barn, sawmill, documents, and savings. He and his wife are now forced to live with relatives.

The SBI investigative and operational group is working at the scene. A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Part 2 of Article 416 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of flight rules or preparation for them, which caused serious consequences.
