The Indian Foreign Minister arrived in Moscow on a visit to prepare for dictator Vladimir Putin’s trip to his country.

This was reported in Bloomberg.

Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during a visit to Russia, stated that both countries should eliminate trade barriers and reduce non-tariff barriers.

It is noted that Russia is the fourth largest trading partner for India, while India is the second largest for Russia.

“We are all acutely aware that we are meeting against the backdrop of a difficult geopolitical situation. Our leaders remain in close and constant interaction,” he said.

According to journalists, Jaishankar is on a three-day visit to Moscow, which is expected to pave the way for dictator Putin’s trip to India later this year.

It is also known that India and Russia aim to increase their annual trade turnover by about 50% over the next five years to reach $100 billion.

It was previously reported that India and Russia plan to hold a scheduled meeting in St. Petersburg next month to discuss joint military projects and training of the Indian military .

It is worth noting that India temporarily suspended plans to purchase American weapons and aircraft after the introduction of new tariffs by the Donald Trump administration.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of new tariffs for India : from August 1, the country will have to pay 25%. He explained that India buys most of its military equipment from Russia and, together with China, is one of the largest consumers of Russian energy.
