Indian components found in Russian drones

Indian companies are not only indirectly funding Russia’s war against Ukraine by buying Russian oil, but are also supplying components for combat drones used on the front lines.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced this on his Telegram channel.
“Unfortunately, we find Indian components in Russian attack drones. These are drones that are used at the front and against civilians – in particular, we are talking about Shahed (Geranium),” Yermak wrote.
According to him, it is necessary to block Russia’s access to foreign technologies and stop the supply of components that make it possible to wage war against Ukraine.
“Purchasing Russian energy resources is direct financing of war. This does not contribute to peace,” he emphasized.
Yermak referred to the Hindustan Times article, according to which Ukraine officially appealed to the government of India and the European Union after the discovery of electronic components manufactured or assembled by Indian companies in Iranian-made Shahed 136 drones, which are actively used by Russian troops.
Among the companies involved in the deliveries are Vishay Intertechnology and Aura Semiconductor. According to sources, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly raised this issue through diplomatic channels, in particular, in correspondence with the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
The topic was also discussed during a visit to New Delhi by EU Special Representative for Sanctions David O’Sullivan, who briefed the Indian side on the details of the new EU restrictions package. In particular, the issue of the Nayara Energy refinery, partly owned by Russia’s Rosneft, and the ban on imports of products made from Russian crude oil were discussed.
Recall that US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of new tariffs for India : from August 1, the country must pay 25%. He explained that India buys most of its military equipment from Russia and, together with China, is one of the largest consumers of Russian energy.
It should be added that Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that India would be able to meet its oil needs from alternative sources if Russian supplies were cut off due to US sanctions.
Earlier, India’s state-owned oil refineries temporarily suspended purchases of Russian oil after US President Donald Trump threatened to impose 100% tariffs on countries that continue to buy energy resources from Moscow.
