Uzhgorod native Yolka (Elizaveta Ivantsiv) changed the lyrics of her famous hit “Provence” during her performance at the Golden Gramophone award ceremony in Moscow. The singer removed the mention of the Ukrainian airport Boryspil from the lyrics.

This is reported by Russian media.

It is worth noting that during a concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Russian Music Prize, Yolka performed an updated version of the composition. Instead of the original line “Because tomorrow at 7:22 I will be in Boryspil, sitting in a plane and thinking about the pilot,” she sang “Tomorrow at 7:22 I will fly to you, sitting in a plane and thinking about the pilot.”

As journalists note, the concert took place on the stage of the VTB Arena in Moscow on October 30 and 31.

It is worth adding that Yolka was born in Uzhhorod and previously participated in the first two seasons of the Ukrainian talent show X-Factor as a jury member. However, after 2014, the singer stopped speaking publicly about Russia’s war against Ukraine and continued her career in Russia.

In 2017, in an interview with journalists, Yolka said: “I feel very good here. I was so scared 15 years ago that Moscow would not accept me. But over the past 15 years, I have grown into a real family. How can I feel bad here? This is the city of my realization.”

Yolka (real name – Elizaveta Valeriyevna Ivantsiv) was born on July 2, 1982 in the city of Uzhhorod, Transcarpathian region. Since childhood, she was involved in music, sang in the school choir and participated in competitions. Her mother worked as a conductor, and her father was a musician, so the future singer grew up in a creative family.

In the early 2000s, Yolka began performing as part of the local band “B&B.” In 2004, she was noticed by representatives of a Moscow production center, after which the singer moved to Russia and began a solo career.

Yolka’s first album, “City of Deception,” was released in 2005. The song “Provence” (2010), which became a hit in Russian-speaking countries, brought her real fame. The singer’s other famous compositions include “Around You,” “The Sea Inside,” and “On a Big Air Sphere.”
