About two-thirds of the intelligence information that the Ukrainian military receives from Western partners comes from European states, in particular France.
This was reported by Franceinfo, citing a statement by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot on France Inter.
The French diplomat urged not to succumb to Russian disinformation and emphasized that the Kremlin is trying to weaken support for Ukraine through propaganda.
“Let us not allow the propaganda of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to contaminate us,” Barrot said.
According to him, Russia is using propaganda campaigns and troll networks on social media to discourage Ukrainians and Europeans and weaken their desire to continue the fight and help Ukraine. The minister emphasized that the confrontation is taking place not only on the battlefield, but also in people’s minds.
Barro also commented on concerns about the possible cessation of support for Ukraine by Western allies. He recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, there have been repeated predictions of a quick defeat of Ukraine or a refusal of further US assistance.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that Europe has been providing Kyiv with basic support for a long time.
Separately, the French Foreign Minister spoke about the agreements between the administration of US President Donald Trump and Moscow on the supply of diesel fuel. In his opinion, this agreement does not mean strengthening Russia, since due to tough European sanctions, Russian hydrocarbon production is gradually decreasing.
However, US President Donald Trump’s special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner had previously demanded that Ukraine stop the strikes on Russian oil refineries. According to media reports, they threatened to deprive Kyiv of American intelligence if the attacks continued.
