Investigative actions are underway at the office of the Ministry of Reconstruction: what is the reason?

The Ministry of Reconstruction, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it is investigating the director of the Department of Reconstruction Policy, who was appointed to the position in April of this year. The official is planned to be suspended from duty during the investigation.
This was reported by the department’s press service on social networks.
It is noted that on Wednesday, September 23, law enforcement officers are conducting investigative actions at the department’s office. The matter concerns the possible receipt of illegal benefits by an official while working at his previous position.
This concerns a possible illegal benefit from sanctions on business entities. The Ministry emphasized that the circumstances currently being investigated by law enforcement officers are not related to the activities of an official in the department.
The ministry stated that it is providing law enforcement agencies with all necessary information and facilitating investigative actions.
At the same time, due to the nature of the suspicions regarding the official’s activities at his previous place of work, the department does not rule out possible risks for the Ministry. Therefore, a decision will be made today to suspend him from performing his official duties.
Based on the results of the investigation and inspection, appropriate personnel decisions will be made in accordance with the legislation. In parallel, an internal audit is underway at the Ministry, which was started before the formation of the new team.
The department emphasized that any facts of possible violations must be properly investigated, regardless of the position or name of the person involved.
“We are counting on a quick, complete and objective investigation. If additional confirmed information appears, we will report it separately,” the Ministry noted.
