Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of attacking an Iranian merchant ship. He also said Ukraine’s actions “cannot go unanswered.”
He wrote about this in X.
The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry claims that the president of Ukraine is allegedly involved in the attack on the Iranian ship.
“Zelensky attacked an Iranian ship, killing a sailor,” Araghchi said.
According to the minister, the strike, he claimed, was carried out “on the orders of Israel,” is a violation of the UN Charter, and was allegedly intended to drag European countries into war.
Araghchi also stated that Ukraine’s actions “cannot go unanswered.”
In addition, the head of Iranian diplomacy reported that he had discussed this incident with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, as well as with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
At the time of publication, the Ukrainian side had not commented on the statements of the Iranian Foreign Minister.
By the way, on July 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously reported that Ukrainian long-range strikes had hit targets in the Caspian Sea. According to him, these included vessels involved in the transportation of military cargo between Russia and Iran, as well as a warship.
