On Thursday, March 19, Iran attacked one of the key oil refineries in Saudi Arabia.
This was reported by Reuters.
As it became known, the SAMREF refinery of oil giant Saudi Aramco in the port of Yanbu on the Red Sea was under attack.
According to the news agency’s sources, the consequences of the strike for the enterprise “were minimal.”
Iran attacked the plant after issuing evacuation warnings for several oil facilities, including SAMREF, in a number of Middle Eastern countries.
It is worth noting that this is the only oil refinery that has been able to transport products from the Persian Gulf countries bypassing them since the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Previously, QatarEnergy, one of the world’s largest natural gas producers, completely halted production after strikes by Iranian “shaheeds”.
It is known that the Saudi oil company is negotiating with Ukrainian manufacturers to purchase interceptor drones to protect oil fields from attacks by Iranian drones.
