The United Arab Emirates is considering a military response to Iran’s attacks, which have already caused significant damage to the country. Since the start of the war, the UAE has suffered hundreds of missile and drone strikes, killing people and injuring dozens.
Axios writes about this, citing two sources.
“The UAE is considering taking active defensive measures against Iran. Although the country has not participated in the war in any way, it has still been subjected to 800 attacks,” said a source familiar with political discussions in the Emirates.
The publication notes that an Emirati strike on Iran would be unprecedented. The choice of such an option reflects the “enormous indignation” of the Persian Gulf countries over Iranian attacks on civilian infrastructure and oil and gas facilities.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, on March 2, Iran launched 186 ballistic missiles at the country, 172 of which were intercepted, 13 fell into the sea, and one fell on Emirati territory. It also launched 812 drone strikes, 755 of which were intercepted, and 57 fell on UAE territory. The attacks killed three foreign nationals and injured about 70.
The UAE ministry said Abu Dhabi reserves “the full right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary measures to protect its territory, citizens and residents.”
At the same time, there have been changes in Iran’s top leadership. As Iran International reports: “Under pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran’s Assembly of Experts has elected Mojtab, son of Ali Khamenei, as the new supreme leader.”
Earlier it became known that the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the operation of the USA and Israel . Subsequently, the US President Donald Trump made a statement about Khamenei , according to him, the operation was carried out in cooperation with Israel
Putin later commented on the assassination of Iran’s supreme leader . He stated that Khamenei’s death was a violation of international law and expressed condolences to Iran.
By the way, for several years , Israel had access to most of the traffic cameras located in Tehran, which helped to establish the location of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
As a reminder, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that any actions by European countries directed against Iran would be regarded as an “act of war.”
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy admitted that Ukraine and Middle Eastern countries could exchange weapons.
